We hope
everyone had a great holiday season this year and everyone is ready for
2008. PTP is working to make 2008 our
best year and we’re off to a good start.
As you will see in some of the articles inside, PTP is about to roll
out new maintenance accounts for the shop program
and we’re making some good progress with our fuel solicitation calls. One thing that is becoming apparent is the
need to be stronger as a NETWORK. The
changes that are happening in our industry are forcing many of the smaller
players out on all sides of the fence, trucking companies, truck stops, etc. The PTP Shop program has been a sterling
example of the success that can happen by coming together as a network. The shop members have agreed to a Warranty
Program for the fleets that has made the PTP Shop program very strong and
competitive with the chains such as Petro and TA. Many of the truck stop members that we have
talked to the past couple of
months have asked for PTP to put a network discount program back into
place. (For those of you who have
joined more recently, PTP had a network discount program
in place to offer trucking companies up until 3 years ago or so. High transaction fees were the main culprit
in this program being scrapped).
Putting a discount program like this back in place would be an
essential step in making the truck stop program a stronger network. PTP is all for putting a network discount
program back in place for trucking companies, and we will be sending a fax
out and calling you to get your opinions on how you would like to see this
implemented. We have a network
discount in place with the TCH card currently
and that program is working very smoothly.
All discounts are given at the point of sale so there is no chance of
“double dipping” on discounts. If you would like to talk about this issue,
please contact Burt Newman Jr. at 888-778-6377, ext. 102. Thanks and we’re looking forward to a great
new year working with you! |
